Cara de Nada - Live 4/14/1994

The vault is deeper than I could have thought. Just a reminder to all of you out there... film everything, you never know when you'll perform in a nun's habit again!

April 14, 1994 we had a show in San Jose at the Oasis. A Western Front and Cara de Nada played. It was sort of a coming out party for Quagmire, the label. It was also the last thing we ever did in physical form. From then on, we put everything online even our live shows.

It's interesting going back and looking at this, more than 13 years later. I hate to be nostalgic, but I wish I could go back in time and relive some of this stuff. Or at least be able to do those things again. Ignorance is a beautiful thing sometimes. It's so much easier to be in the moment.

Notice that Pat is wearing white framed sunglasses 13 years before they were popular... what a trend setter!

I found this snippet on an old VHS tape and I decided to share it. Two forms... YouTube and download for your iPod or Apple TV... I wish there was more, but this is all I could find. I give you Cara de Nada... live.

Cara de Nada. Perahps a definition of Noise Pop. Part of that scene in San Francisco, these guys played all over and had some amazing shows. I remember recording them once in someones house trying to capture their raw energy. It was impossible. They were so fucking loud. So fucking wild. I love these guys. Pat, Shawn, and Anthony. The funny thing is that they are so mellow in person. I guess they got it out of their system while performing. It's either that or the pot.

Check this song out. You'll begin to get a feel for what I'm talking about. We'll have more tracks from them and hopefully solo work by front man Patrick Goddard as well. This definitely needs to be heard.
