Rhino is full of all sorts of people in great bands (see previous Letter Openers post). Ryan, from Division Day, sits a crumpled post-it note-throw away from me.
Indirect relation to Swede Life? They played the Noise Pop fest, had a practice pad in Santa Cruz one summer, and play some mean indie-rock (not "mean" as in "not nice", but mean as in "I'm Michael Jackson and bad is good", not that they sound like Michael Jackson, but... oh fuck it, you know what I mean...).
Anyhoo, I like this here song, Tigers, of their latest release, Beartrap Island, because of it's sense of urgency, tasty piano and guitar licks, and makes me want to swing around and round. And I'll need all that dancing to work off all the goodies I steal off the counter by Ryan's desk. (Sorry, dude, I have no self-control when it comes to sweets).
